Our Level 3 Certificate in Forest School First Aid is a 16 hour qualification delivered over 2 days. It is specifically designed for forest school practitioners and meets the requirements of the HSE, Forest School training providers, and many outdoor national governing body awards. It blends paediatric first aid course and outdoor first aid course to ensure that the candidate can deal with a wide variety of incidents. Upon successful completion the candidate will be presented with a Level 3 Certificate in Forest School First Aid (RQF).

The course will be delivered within the Forest School Site at West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village. Each day will begin at 10am. You will need change for the car park (£2 per day), unless you are an annual heritage ticket holder for West Stow. The reception at West Stow will have a list of names of participants, so please check in upon arrival.

There is access to a toilet immediately next to the site (accessible), and there are further toilets next to the car park and in the cafe. The cafe is immediately next to the visitor's centre if you would like to purchase your lunch, otherwise you may bring a packed lunch with you. Food and drink must only be eaten within the Forest School site or outside of the Anglo-Saxon Village.

The course will be delivered outdoors, but there will be access to shelter if the weather is particularly bad. If the weather is bad enough for the park to close, the course will be rearranged for an alternative date.

"Some days are just perfect! I was lucky enough to spend yesterday at West Stow with a group of wonderful women lead by Tina Gibbons of The Mind Sanctuary. Tina became a Human Toolbox Practitioner last year and shares with me a fascination for linking ancient wisdoms with modern science. Yesterday Tina lead a Woodland Wellbeing day which involved meditation, mindfulness, walking, laughter, creativity and lots of play and fun! We all came away feeling joyful, nourished and rejuvenated. I can't wait for the next one!"

"From the beautiful space, to the ingenious name tags, the beautiful walk, the utterly delicious lunch, the opportunity to play ... I am filled with gratitude for this lovely day spent with all you gorgeous people. Thank you Tina Gibbons and team - for connection, medicine & beauty xxx "

Introducing our monthly Sunday summer sessions!

4/24/2018

We are so happy with our new site at West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village that we felt we needed to spend more time there! A lot of mums and dads (and grandparents!) have mentioned an interest in some sessions for the grown ups, so some of our Sunday sessions will be adult-only, while some will be for the whole family. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page to see what sessions are available.

The first session will be Sunday 6th May, 11am - 3pm, and will be a family forest session.

A chance to come and see what we get up to at Nature Explorers! Mums and dads (and any other relatives!) will be encouraged to try some of the games and activities we do at our Forest School sessions with their children. Release your inner child, grab your wellies and come and play in the woods!

Bring a picnic or something to cook on the fire for lunch, a mug for tea or coffee and we will provide tools, activities, crafts and light refreshments. We encourage you to bring something to share round the fire - a story or a song perhaps :-)

Email [email protected].uk to book a place or fill in the booking form here: https://form.jotformeu.com/81046135784357. Spaces are limited so please let me know asap if you wish to attend.

£10 per family. (Normal admission to West Stow applies if you are not a heritage ticket holder)

You can find the event on Facebook here
