Home Ed Sessions - 8-14 years
Following on our success of our Forest School working with Nature Explorers, Explore Outdoor is starting its own forest school for Home Educated children aged 8-14 years.
Our Forest Schools are focused on the young people who lead the direction of learning and exploration. Participants will take part in a huge range of activities within our Forest School Site and the wider area of Nowton Park. Participants will get to develop practical skills using knives, axes and fire, as well as developing key social and communication skills interacting with both young people and instructors. We will engage explore and examine the local environment, habitats and species and how we can protect and manage these areas sustainably.
We run blocks of 6 weeks throughout the year, breaking for school holidays.
The sessions are open to all children aged 8-14 years, and run every Thursday from 10am-1pm, meeting at Nowton Park.
Participants will need to bring a packed lunch, snacks and drinking water and personal medication. As well as warm, waterproof clothes and sun protection.
